IFamily membership is currently capped, but the road to iFamily Membership is simple. We recommend reading A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver DeMille OR read Part 1 of Leadership Education: The Phases of Learning by Oliver and Rachel DeMille. We believe our members are most satisfied with iFamily when their educational philosophy meshes well with these principles and we recognize our model of education is not the right fit for every family’s approach to education. Standards of excellence, quality, responsibility and hard work will be taught and upheld within the YLA community. Before you join iFamily, it is important to understand our Vision and Mission along with the Basics of Leadership Education. One can use almost any educational method and still apply the principles of TJED, which are grounded in the Phases of Learning and the 7 Keys of Great Teaching. TJED is not technically a method, in and of itself but more a philosophy. Thomas Jefferson Education (TJED) is an educational philosophy that builds leaders. The leadership education principles outlined in the book, “A Thomas Jefferson Education” by Oliver Demille form the foundation Youth Leaders for America stands upon.

We do this by providing youth classes, social activities and service opportunities within our community.

To raise up youth who love learning, work hard, embody a moral foundation of truth, virtue, compassion, liberty and courage, who will be prepared to lead, uphold faith and freedom and positively impact the world for good. As a non denominational Christian group, we welcome all who uphold principles of faith, freedom and family unity. We work together to support, not replace, the family as the center of learning and we honor each individual as the steward of their own education. We join for shared educational experiences based on the Leadership Education Model and principles outlined in “A Thomas Jefferson Education” by Oliver Demille. Youth Leaders for America (YLA) are communities of homeschooling families dedicated to giving homeschool youth, and families, a place to belong, learn and thrive together.
